Get the wedding app on your phone
Trip plan, navigation without reception, wildlife guide, chats with your travel groups and everything about the wedding. The app is private and only for our guests: there is no sign-up, you get your access details from us.
iPhone
You need iOS 16.1 or later (iPhone 8 or newer) and about 600 MB of free storage.
Important: it can take up to 1 hour
Many iPhones have “Stolen Device Protection” switched on. If you are not at home, your iPhone then only accepts the registration profile after an hour and shows “Security Delay in Progress”. That is normal, not an error: just wait, your iPhone will notify you. Then in Settings tap “Profile Downloaded” → “Install”. At home it works straight away.
Register your iPhone
Open this link on your iPhone in Safari, sign in with your name and tap “Register iPhone”. This lets us enable the app for your iPhone with Apple.

Wait a moment
Safari then shows the page again. A countdown runs while the app is enabled for your iPhone (about 2 minutes). Just keep the page open.
Install the app
As soon as “Install the app” appears there, tap it and then “Install”.
Turn on Developer Mode (once)
The first time you open the app, your iPhone says “Developer Mode Required”: tap “OK”. Then Settings → Privacy & Security → at the very bottom switch on “Developer Mode” → “Restart”. After the restart tap “Turn On” and enter your passcode. Then the app opens normally. You only need to do this once.
Open the app and sign in
“Marietta & Daniel” with the acacia appears on your Home Screen. Open the app and sign in as described below under “Sign in”.
Updates
When there is a new version, the app tells you. You install it the same way through wedding-namibia.com/app/ios. Your data stays.
Android
You need Android 8 or later and about 600 MB of free storage.
Download the app file
Open this link on your phone. The file is about 100 MB, so ideally use Wi-Fi.

Allow the installation
Tap the downloaded file. Android asks whether your browser (or WhatsApp, email, “Files”) may install apps: “Settings” → switch on “Allow” → go back.
Install
Tap “Install”. If Google Play Protect warns you: “More details” → “Install anyway”. The warning appears only because the app doesn't come from the Play Store.
Open the app and sign in
“Marietta & Daniel” with the acacia appears among your apps. Open the app and sign in as described below under “Sign in”.
Updates
We send new versions as a new file. Just install it over the old one, don't uninstall first. Your data stays.
Older Android phone?
If the app won't install on an older phone, use the version for older 32-bit phones.

Sign in
Sign in to the app with your first and last name, for example “Anna Berger”.
The password for your first sign-in is in our WhatsApp message.
After that you choose your own password with at least 8 characters.
After signing in
- Allow notifications – for messages from your travel groups, evening-before reminders and wildlife sightings near you.
- Location “While using the app” – for the map, navigation and the help page. You only share it with your group when you start that yourselves.
- Allergies & diet – the app asks once, so the lodge kitchen knows.
Download on Wi-Fi before you fly
On the road in Namibia there's often no reception. Download these at home on Wi-Fi, in the app under Settings → Data:
- Offline map – needed for navigation without reception. (about 120 MB)
- Full-size wildlife photos – nicer in the wildlife guide, but optional. (about 270 MB)
- Navigation voice – the app downloads the natural voice for the directions on Wi-Fi by itself. Settings → Navigation voice shows when it is ready. (about 65 MB)
